Hello, I'm Jenny, the creative force behind Design That Flies. I love hearing couples' love stories and being a part of their weddings by designing stationery. I specialize in custom invitations, combining design and illustration to create unique paper goods. In addition to invitations, I also enjoy designing other wedding stationery including Save the Dates, rehearsal dinner and shower invitations, and day of wedding stationery (programs, table numbers, place cards, signage, anything paper!). The favorite part of my job is showing my clients their designs for the first time and seeing their faces light up as they visualize their ideas captured on paper. My home base is Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am just a phone call/email away and enjoy working with clients all over Wisconsin, Chicago and US.
When to begin?
If you are interested in wedding invitations, it is preferable to begin the design process 5-8 months before your wedding date. If you are interested in a Save The Date and wedding invitation package, it is preferable to begin 8-11 months before your date. You are always welcome to book a consultation as early as when you know your date and venue. I love planning ahead!
Design Process
1. INITIAL CONSULTATION: We will chat about the details of your wedding and stationery ideas. I will go through all the options and details with you with lots of examples of my work. You will receive an estimated quote at our first meeting and a finalized quote a few days later. The initial consultation is free and non-obiglatory and can be done in person or over the phone. If you decide to move forward, I will send you the deposit information and contract.
2. WORDING: I will guide you through all the different wording options and etiquette to formulate a customized document for you.
3. PROOFS: You will receive digital images of your proofs via email and printed proofs. You are welcome to make as many changes/edits as you would like.
4. PRINTING: After you approve the final proofs, your invitations will be sent to the printer and delivered to you! Foil, letterpress and professional digital printing options are all available.
